aTE Incubator Sessions.

aTE Incubator Sessions are specifically designed for artists working with ideas of place, territory and ecology in their broadest sense. The sessions run in seven week blocks with a one hour face to face video tutorial session per week and include follow up e mails/online conversation.

The intensive sessions are particularly geared towards established or emerging artists who wish to move their work in a new direction or ‘kick start’ their practice after a latent period - after having children, moving to a remote location away from academic institutions ect, suffering a disability/illness, or coming to the end of graduate/post graduate study and wanting to push their practice forward or in a new direction.

Artists are provided with a bespoke reading list and work plan which will be developed following an initial consultation session. The sessions are built around their current practice and interests, ideas and concepts generated by an aTE Exchange (if an aTE member) or around the development of a particular body of work, an exhibition or proffesional development in general.

As a culmination of the seven weeks artists are offered either; a mini virtual residency opportunity with online exhibition, a promotional blog post about their work or a pop up exhibition in an ‘alternative’ and unusual exhibition space (we have a number of locations which are decided in discussion with the artist).

Practice development sessions are led by Gudrun Filipska and supported by the aTE Advisory board and other relevant artists and academics.

The cost is £695 and includes seven weeks of one hour per week video sessions and after this either; the organisation of a mini virtual residency or pop-up exhibition or the writing of a blog post about the artists work. (Current Arts Territory Exchange members recieve a 10 percent discount).

Short Courses.

We are currently developing a short course called ‘Place-Space/face to face.’ On art, ecology and the ethics of the spacial encounter through the writing of Emmanuel Levinas.
